Woman charged with forcing two into prostitution in Deerfield
(SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - A 53-year-old woman has been charged with pimping two women out of her business in north suburban Deerfield.
Yuhua Fan was charged with one felony count of promoting prostitution, and misdemeanor counts of keeping a place of prostitution, pimping and maintaining a public nuisance, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office received a tip about possible prostitution at Acupressure Physical Therapy at 1020 N. Milwaukee Ave. in unincorporated Deerfield, according to the statement.
The sheriff’s Gang Task Force conducted an undercover prostitution operation Wednesday and discovered that one of the “employees,” a 28-year-old woman, was a victim who was forced to perform sexual acts, according to police. Another 47-year-old woman was also found to be one of Fan’s victims.
Both women came to the Chicago area about two months ago and believed they were going to be employed as masseuses, according to police. Fan forced them into prostitution by threatening them with being unemployed and homeless.
Both were rescued and given safe shelter.
Fan, of the 300 block of Alpine Spring Drive in Vernon Hills, was released Thursday from the Lake County Jail after posting the required 10 percent of her $50,000 bond.
