Suspected Highland Park parade shooter to stand trial next year

The man accused of murdering seven people at the Fourth of July Parade in Highland Park will stand trial next year. Robert Crimo III is charged with 21 counts of first-degree murder, 48 counts of attempted murder and 48 counts of aggravated battery for the mass shooting. A Lake County Judge issued his new trial date, Feb. 24, 2025, on Wednesday.
