Chicago weather: After weeks below freezing, warmer temperatures ahead
Chicago weather: Wednesday morning forecast
FOX 32's Mike Caplan breaks down today's weather outlook.
CHICAGO - I will be watching the lake-effect snow this morning to see how impactful it is. Doesn’t look like it will be much more than a coating. Right now, it is very light and spotty.
What to expect:
The rest of the day will be mostly cloudy with the greatest cloud cover downwind of and along the lake. Highs will be in the mid to upper 20s. Tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy and cold. Low temperatures will be in the mid-teens — a little bit colder in our northern counties.
Tomorrow there’s a small chance for some light snow or flurries. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy and not as cold with highs around 30.
On Friday we could start the day with some light precipitation, but the main story will be a realistic chance at getting a couple of degrees above freezing. We haven’t been above freezing since Jan. 16.
Over the weekend it will turn a little bit colder on Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 20s. Sunday there is a chance we could get a little bump up again close to or perhaps a couple of degrees above freezing.
The big warm-up arrives next week with signs now pointing to 40s perhaps as early as Monday, but certainly by Tuesday, with an outside chance of getting a 50 in there on Tuesday.
