Bolingbrook man held woman against her will in South Loop carjacking: police
CHICAGO - A Bolingbrook man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly hijacking a woman’s vehicle at gunpoint and kidnapping her in the South Loop.
Arrest Made in Armed Carjacking, Kidnapping
What we know:
Taylen Byndum, 18, faces the following charges:
- One felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm
- One felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a passenger under 16
- One felony count of armed kidnapping
- One felony count of aggravated kidnapping of a child under 13 or a person with an intellectual disability
- Issuance of a warrant

Byndum was arrested at 4 p.m. on Feb. 4 after being identified as a suspect in a carjacking and kidnapping that occurred 30 minutes earlier in the 400 block of W. Harrison, Chicago police said.
A 14-year-old girl was also arrested in connection with the incident and faces felony charges, including aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, armed aggravated kidnapping, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Her identity has not been released because she is a juvenile.

Byndum remains in custody ahead of his detention hearing, set for Feb. 6.
