Chicago crime: Man, 31, shot and killed on West Side
CHICAGO - A 31-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday morning on the city's West Side, according to Chicago police.
What we know:
The shooting happened at around 11:20 a.m. in the 100 block of South Springfield Avenue in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.
Police said the man was outside when a group of unknown men approached him on foot. At least one person in the group opened fire, striking the man multiple times in the body. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died.
The shooters ran away on foot in an unknown direction. No other injuries were reported.
What's next:
No arrests have been made, as Area Four detectives are investigating.
