Chicago Police officer hurt by firecracker at NW Side station
CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - A Chicago Police officer was injured by a firecracker Monday morning at the 17th District station in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
The man went into the restroom at the station in the 4600 block of North Pulaski about 5:50 a.m. and was injured by a novelty firework most commonly known as a firecracker, police said.
The officer was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital as a precaution in good condition, police said.
The station’s bathroom was not damaged.
