CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - It's another sign that Christmas is right around the corner.

Monday morning, the city of Chicago's officials Christmas tree will be cut down and make its way to Millennium Park.

The 63 foot Colorado Blue Spruce is being donated by the Voelker family of Northlake.

The Voiler's tree was selected from 130 submissions received by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

The tree will be lit at the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, in Millennium Park. The event is free to the public and will feature performances by Renée Fleming and cast members from the Emerald City Theatre's A Charlie Brown Christmas.
