Four face federal charges after Humboldt Park drug trafficking investigation
CHICAGO - Four suspects are facing federal narcotics and firearm charges following a drug trafficking investigation on Chicago's Northwest Side.
The investigation also led to 20 other people being charged in state court.
What we know
Homeland Security Investigations and Chicago police led the probe, using surveillance, undercover narcotics purchases, and wiretaps to dismantle an open-air drug market in Humboldt Park.
On Wednesday, authorities searched a home and seized multi-kilogram quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, all packaged for distribution, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Jauan Brown, 38, Briuanna Moore, 26, and Eyanna Ross, 21, face federal drug charges. Brown also faces a charge of illegal firearm possession.
William Davis, 38, is charged with illegal firearm possession as well, officials said.
All four suspects appeared in federal court in Chicago on Wednesday.
In addition, 20 people were charged in state court as part of the investigation, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
