Homan Square shooting leaves man critically wounded

A man was shot and critically wounded early Friday in Chicago's Homan Square neighborhood.

The 23-year-old was outside around 3 a.m. in the 700 block of South Lawndale Avenue when gunfire broke out and struck him in the upper back, police said.

He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
