Hotel Monaco workers protest working conditions

A group of Chicago hotel workers are setting a protest in the loop Friday morning.

Workers for Hotel Monaco gathered on the street early Friday to protest overworking conditions and occupational risks.

Many workers say they are physically exhausted and in pain at the end of their shift. Each housekeeper says they have to clean 15 rooms every single day, 15 bathtubs, 15 windows and mirrors. They say they don't even have the right equipment to help them do their job.

"Every day I am in pain," protestor Mayra Munoz said.

The group says they plan on protesting outside the hotel throughout the day. FOX 32 has reached out to hotel management and headquarters for a statement.

Hotel Monaco is located at 225 N, Wabash Ave.
