Jeep hits CTA bus in Chicago’s Loop in wrong-way crash
CHICAGO - A Jeep hit a CTA bus a little around midnight in Chicago’s Loop on Monday in a wrong-way crash.
The gray Jeep was traveling in the wrong direction eastbound down a one-way street on Van Buren Street and hit the bus, which was traveling northbound on Dearborn Street, Chicago police said.
The Jeep came to a complete stop after hitting an unoccupied parked car. The adult male driver and an adult female passenger of the Jeep had minor injuries. They were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.
The female driver of the CTA bus was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition with minor injuries. There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.
No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the Jeep was placed into custody and charges are pending, police said.
