Man claims he was attacked, carjacked by homeless person he was trying to help
CHICAGO (Fox 32 News) - A Chicago man said that he was attacked by a homeless man he was trying to help.
Darius Koporovski told Fox 32 News that he had picked up the man around 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, offering to let the man shower at his home.
"He jumped in the front," Koporovski said. "He was pulling out his knife and trying to stab me in the back and instead he stabbed my hand."
Koporovski said he fought back, grabbed his keys and jumped out of the van. That's when, he said, the attacker got out of the van, punched him in the face, and stole his keys and his van.
The alleged attacker was taken into custody. Koporovski said he did not want to press charges. However, the 39-year-old was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and reckless conduct anyway.
