Man punched, doused with liquid on Chicago’s Northwest Side

A man was punched and doused with a liquid that caused burning and blurred vision when he was on the sidewalk in the Logan Square neighborhood Monday night.

Officers were called to the 41-year-old man’s house around 9:15 p.m. because he was in need of medical care, Chicago police said. The victim told officers about the incident that took place about two hours beforehand in the 3200 block of West Armitage Avenue.

He told police that he was punched in the eye. Police did not say whether the attacker took anything from the victim, or what may have been the motivation.

Paramedics were called to the victim's home and they took him to Humboldt Park Health Hospital where he was treated and listed in good condition.

No one is in custody in connection with the attack. Area detectives are investigating.
