Officer injured breaking up fight in Elgin Monday morning

ELGIN (STMW) - A police officer was injured Monday morning breaking up a fight involving several people in northwest suburban Elgin.

Police were called just after 7 a.m. to the 1500 block of Larkin Avenue where several people were reportedly involved in a fight, according to a statement from Elgin police.

Officers arrived and had to break up the fight, eventually taking two men and two juveniles into custody, police said.

One officer suffered minor injuries while taking one of the juveniles into custody, police said. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
