Person questioned after shots fired at police on Far South Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - A person was taken into custody after shots were fired at Chicago Police officers early Sunday in the East Side neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The shots were fired at police at 3:38 a.m. when the officers were responding to a report of gunfire in the 10300 block of South Avenue N, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.
No one was struck in the shooting, police said. The officers did not return fire.
The suspects ran into two separate buildings on that block and barricaded themselves inside, police said.
A SWAT team responded and cleared the buildings without incident, police said. One person was taken into custody and is being questioned Sunday morning.
