Republican, Pfannkuche, has his eye on State's Attorney's office

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -- Christopher Pfannkuche worked as an assistant prosecutor for 31 years in the Cook County State's Attorney's office.  Now he wants to run the office.

He's unopposed in Tuesday's Republican primary.  He'll face the winner of the Democratic primary this fall.  Embattled incumbent Anita Alvarez, under fire for her handling of the Laquan McDonald killing by a Chicago police officer, faces two challengers on Tuesday: Kim Foxx and Donna More.

Foxx is a former chief of staff to Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.  More is a lawyer from the North Shore who is using some of her own wealth to fund her campaign.
