Six Flags Great America in Gurnee hiring more than 3,000 workers: How to apply

Six Flags Great America says it is looking to hire more than 3,000 employees as it prepares for its 50th anniversary season.

The hiring push is part of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation’s National Hiring Week, a companywide effort to fill more than 50,000 positions across its parks nationwide.

In north suburban Gurnee, open roles span nearly every area of the park, including rides, food and beverage, aquatics, admissions, entertainment, retail, park services and cleanliness, EMTs and paramedics, and security.

"Every season at Six Flags Great America brings something exciting, but celebrating our 50th anniversary is what makes 2026 special," park manager Hardeep Lall said in a statement. "Working at Six Flags is more than just a summer job – it’s a chance to help create unforgettable memories for those who walk through our gates."

Applicants are encouraged to apply online at jobs.sixflags.com.

Additionally, an in-person hiring event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Gurnee theme park, and candidates are asked to apply online before attending.

Positions start at $15 an hour, with some roles paying up to $19 an hour. Some other perks are free park admission, in-park discounts, and exclusive team member events.
