Woman injured after bullet hit car on Dan Ryan

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - One woman was injured in a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway after a bullet hit her car early Sunday on the South Side.

Three females were riding in a van going northbound on the Dan Ryan (I-90/94) near Roosevelt when shots were fired about 4:15 a.m., according to Illinois State Police. A bullet hit the van causing it to stall in the center lane.

No one was shot, police said.

One woman was transported to Rush University Medical Center with minor injuries she suffered in the crash, state police said.

The right two inbound lanes were still closed as of 5:40 a.m., state police said.
