Gusty winds in Chicago today, wintry mix expected this weekend

Clouds are starting to clear early this afternoon, but strong winds remain a factor. Highs will reach the mid to upper 30s, though gusts could hit 35 mph today and strengthen to 40-45 mph tonight.

Looking Ahead:

Friday will start off cold, with morning temperatures in the teens. Expect partly sunny skies and highs around 30 degrees, but the wind will settle down.

By Saturday, a mix of wintry precipitation returns, with highs in the mid-30s. Snow and freezing rain are possible, especially in the afternoon and continuing into the night.

Sunday brings partly sunny skies and a high near 30, followed by mostly sunny conditions Monday, with highs in the low 30s.

Temperatures dip into the mid-20s by Tuesday and Wednesday, with a mix of clouds expected.
