10/9 Search Engine Optimization Analyst (Northbrook)

The SEO Specialist position at OpticsPlanet, Inc. offers the opportunity to help set SEO strategy for a top 200 online retailer with close to one million products, competing for top rankings with the likes of Amazon, Cabelas, Zappos and other e-commerce giants.

Your analytical skills will be stretched to their capacity, creating large scale content and architecture strategies to respond to and anticipate search engine algorithm changes. Your creative abilities will be fully utilized in crafting innovative campaigns to earn organic links from high value domains. Your teamwork and collaborative planning skills will be honed and tested as you work together with our Marketing, Web Content, Web Design and Software Development Teams to shape the architecture and content of our website to best serve our customers while achieving all our SEO goals and being efficient with internal resources.

You will help OpticsPlanet maintain AND improve position on thousands of short and mid-tail keywords, while also finding new query spaces for us to improve and acquire new customers. Your skill in "nuts and bolts" on-page SEO will be utilized in doing hands-on work crafting and refining the most important pages on our website -- pages that are viewed by hundreds of thousands of visitors and compete for keywords that get millions of searches every year.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Implement, monitor, and continue developing our SEO strategy
Compete for first page rankings through high-end optimization among search engines
Find opportunities to acquire new customers through optimization for new queries
Manage content & architecture for our network of online web properties
Work with Content and Software Development teams to implement large scale, high impact strategies
Build our template library to best optimize the 10,000s of newly added pages
Collaborate with SEO Analysts to improve ad quality through landing page optimization and creation
Provide Training to and uphold SEO standards of all content contributing teams
Analyze website traffic utilizing a variety of analytics tools
Earn and refine organic inbound links through creative and effective link- building strategies and acquisitions

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

Proven SEO experience and understanding
Strong familiarity with current and developing SEO trends and requirements
Experience with web content management systems, analytics tools, and basic HTML is a must
Strong Analytical and Logical skills
Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required
Positive attitude, strong work ethics, and ability to multi task
A sharp mind with an ability to understand concepts
Willingness to learn
Attention to details
A broad knowledge of ecommerce business models
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel
High comfort level with software and technology
