Actor Rance Howard, father of director Ron Howard, dies at 89

HOLLYWOOD (Fox 32 News) - Rance Howard, an actor and father of movie director Ron Howard, passed away Saturday.
Rance Howard was 89.
Son Ron Howard tweeted: "Clint & I have been blessed to be Rance Howard’s sons. He stood especially tall 4 his ability to balance ambition w/great personal integrity. A Depression-era farm boy, his passion for acting changed the course of our family history. We love & miss U Dad."
Rance Howard appeared in dozens of movies over the years, including "A Beautiful Mind" and "Nebraska."
