Alderman pushing for air conditioning in every Chicago home

CHICAGO - A Chicago alderman is pushing for every home to have air conditioning. 
 
George Cardenas introduced new legislation requiring every landlord to provide air conditioning.

The alderman says because of climate change, summers are getting hotter in Chicago and air conditioning should be provided at every home.

A committee will hold hearings on the proposal before it goes into the city council.
