'American Primeval' stars talk about series' stark brutality
CHICAGO - Netflix's new epic western drama 'American Primeval' is the streamer's #1 series — a sprawling six-episode story that tells intertwined stories set in the American West.
The film is directed by Peter Berg ("Friday Night Lights") and was written by the screenwriter behind "The Revenant."
FOX 32 Entertainment Reporter Jake Hamilton spoke with stars Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin about the brutal production, which left Kitsch with a broken foot while filming the series' second episode: "So when I'm limping terribly, you'll understand why" the actor said.
In regard to the series' brutal production, Gilpin said "The starkness and brutality of the time, it was really important that it feel real and authentic and not feel, sort of, cool. We wanted it to feel terrifying and disgusting when it needed to be, and it was."
"American Primeval" is streaming now on Netflix.
