Chicago police search for suspects in string of armed robberies
CHICAGO - Police are investigating a string of armed robberies on the city’s Northwest and South sides that took place last month.
The Chicago Police Department released a community alert to warn residents of the armed robberies, which took place over two days in January.

What we know:
In each incident, the multiple offenders used a stolen car to approach victims on the sidewalk while displaying multiple guns, including at least two long guns, according to Chicago police.
They robbed the victims of their personal belongings.
In one of the incidents, the offenders used a handgun as a blunt weapon and hit a victim on the side of the face.
In another incident, one of the offenders fired the gun he had during the robbery.
What we don't know:
Police did not say if any of the victims were seriously hurt.

- 0-100 block of East 16th St. on Jan. 18 at 11:35 p.m. in Near South Side
- 7500 block of South Phillips Ave. on Jan. 19 at 5:02 p.m. in Windsor Park
Manhunt for offenders
Offender description:
Police described the offenders as three African American males between the ages of around 18 to 25, standing between 5-foot-11 and 6-feet tall, and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds.
They wore dark clothing and black ski/surgical masks
The offenders were seen fleeing in a blue, late model, Honda Civic sedan after each of the robberies.
