Bellis Blog: From spring to fall

Chicago saw its warmest temperature of the year on this Friday, April 17th. The high temperature at O'Hare climbed to 76 degrees and 78 at Midway.

Temperatures will not be as warm Saturday as high pressure builds in across the northern Great Lakes. This will bring northeast winds off of Lake Michigan keeping temperatures along the lakefront in the mid to upper 50s with areas away from the lake climbing into the upper 60s and lower 70s.

A storm system will come out of the Rockies spreading periods of rain and a few thunderstorms, especially for areas south of I-80. Severe weather is not expected, but periods of heavy downpours are possible with rainfall amounts between .50 inches to 1.0 inches.

A secondary cold front will arrive early Monday bringing a few light showers along with much cooler temperatures. High temperatures for most of next week will remain in the mid to upper 50s under mainly quiet conditions.

The 8 to 14 day outlook calls for cooler than normal conditions will below normal precipitation.
