CHICAGO - A Chicago woman was charged with allegedly stabbing two people and a carjacking on the city’s Southwest Side on Thursday morning.
Vanessa Delgado, 21, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery, and vehicular hijacking, according to Chicago police.
She was arrested shortly before 7 a.m. on Thursday in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood.
Police said less than 30 minutes before, she allegedly stabbed and critically injured a 41-year-old woman before taking her car by force in the 5100 block of South Rutherford. The victim was stabbed in her chest and bicep and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.
After feeling the scene in the stolen car, the suspect crashed into an unoccupied car that was parked in the 5100 block of South Mulligan Avenue. A 30-year-old man heard the crash and went to check it out.
Police said Delgado allegedly got out of the stolen car and stabbed him in the back. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition.
Delgado was arrested at the scene and charged.
