Chicago man, Milwaukee woman arrested after high-speed police chases in NW Indiana

A Chicago man and a Milwaukee woman are in custody after leading authorities on multiple pursuits in Northwest Indiana.

Police Pursuits Result in Arrests

What we know:

The incident began at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday on the Indiana Toll Road (Interstate 80/90) near the 56-mile marker.

A white Jaguar was traveling at a high rate of speed when a La Porte County sheriff’s deputy tried to stop the vehicle near the 62-mile marker.

The driver failed to stop and deputies chased him but ended the pursuit at the 72-mile marker.

Minutes later, a Flock Safety camera captured an image of the Jaguar heading west on U.S. 20 near the State Road 2 "Dogbone" Interchange.

A deputy spotted the vehicle at U.S. 20 and State Road 39, and another deputy west of the intersection attempted another traffic stop. The driver again refused to stop, resulting in a second pursuit, the sheriff's office said.

Authorities then used a helicopter from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department to track the Jaguar.

The driver was eventually located and taken into custody.
