Small business owners can now apply for the Comcast Rise Investment Fund. The program is geared toward women and people of color.

COOK COUNTY, Ill. - Small business owners can now apply for the Comcast Rise Investment Fund.

The program is geared toward women and people of color.

Officials say 100 entrepreneurs will receive $10,000 each to assist with operational expenses.

To be eligible, the business must be in Cook County.

The application window closes Oct. 16.
