Crystal Lake couple also accuses 'All My Sons' moving company of theft

A suburban moving company is facing new allegations of theft.

FOX 32 first told you about the company's workers being accused of losing or stealing thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Now, a couple says workers from "All My Sons” moving company stole their home electronics, and the company is promising to take action after FOX 32’s Larry Yellen started asking questions.

“We came to start a new life here together, and it's been just a little bit of a nightmare,” said Lois Gillengerten.

Lois and Joe Gillengerten were thrilled three weeks ago to be moving into a new home in Crystal Lake. But they say their moving experience was a bad one when employees from “All My Sons” Moving Company damaged their furniture and stole an iPad, an iPod and a camera from their home.

“We didn’t' think that that should ever have been an issue, that they would steal from you, while they're in your home like that,” Lois said.

“The desk had damage done to it. It had several places that were gouged. Not scratched, gouged. There were some where the wood was actually chipped off,” Joe said.    

On Wednesday night, FOX 32 revealed that Woodridge police are investigating how thousands of rounds of ammunition was allegedly lost or stolen by “All My Sons” movers. Woodridge police say there's an active investigation underway. “All My Sons” says it is cooperating.

On Thursday, hours after we reached out to “All My Sons,” the company called the Gillengertens and promised to repair the furniture and take care of the stolen items, too. The company told FOX 32 it's dedicated to providing superior service.

It might be too late, though, to erase the couple's memories. 

“It wasn't what we paid for, it wasn't what we expected, and it ruined what should have been a wonderful day for us,” Lois said.    

A spokesperson for “All My Sons” claims the company had been in constant contact with the Gillengartens, but wouldn't take any action until they sent a copy of the police report. The Gillengartens dispute that, but either way, they're happy now with the company's promise to make them whole.
