Multiple women have accused actor and musician Jared Leto of sexual misconduct when they were teenagers, according to a report from the BBC.
Leto, who won an Oscar in 2014, did not respond to the BBC’s request for comment before the article was published Wednesday, but he later issued a statement to U.S. media denying the allegations.
Jared Leto sexual misconduct allegations
What we know:
BBC says they spoke to 10 women who accused Leto of sexual misconduct. The interviews were conducted for the BBC documentary "Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret." According to the BBC, nine of the 10 women came forward publicly for the first time.

What they're saying:
All the women BBC spoke to say they met Leto, now 54, between 2002 and 2016, when he was in his 30s and 40s.
One of the women accused Leto of sexually assaulting her in a motel bathroom when she was 17, while another says he threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19.
Another said she had sex with Leto when she was 17 and he was an adult. She also said he "shrugged off" questions about her age and the legality of the encounter.
"He told me, 'I would like you to call me daddy,’" one victim told the BBC. "And it was either pretend to be a little girl or 'my little girl.’"
"It was only as time went on that I realized more and more how scary that really was," she says.
A fourth woman said Leto repeatedly made explicit phone calls to her when she was 16. She says during at least one conversation, he suggested they should have sex. The woman reportedly showed the BBC a copy of a non-disclosure agreement she was asked to sign, but she refused to do so.
Four other women said Leto used to call them when they were younger, and the conversations were often sexual in nature. Another woman claims Leto made lewd comments about her breasts when she was 14.
Leto responds
The other side:
In a statement released to U.S. media Wednesday afternoon, Leto said "I have never assaulted anyone in my entire life."

According to the BBC, sexual misconduct allegations against Leto are not new: The outlet counted more than 120 accusations made online.
Leto was also accused of misconduct by nine women who spoke to Air Mail for a story published last year. A representative for Leto denied those allegations at the time.
