Man shot on Chicago's West Side

CHICAGO - A man was shot on Chicago's West Side Friday night.

At about 6:57 p.m., a 40-year-old man was near the sidewalk in the 1600 block of South Lawndale when he was struck to the ankle by gunfire, police said.

He was transported to an area hospital in good condition.

No offenders are in custody. Area detectives are investigating.
