Generac Power Systems has expanded its recall for a brand of its pressure washers because the electronic start/stop button on the device could malfunction and self-start, creating a risk of severe injury or death because of carbon monoxide poisoning if the unit is in a confined space.
The Wisconsin-based company recalled 16,260 pressure washers after they received six reports of the devices self-starting, but there were no injuries or property damage reported.

What pressure washers were recalled?
Why you should care:
Generac Power Systems recalled its Electric Start Pressure Washers, which have an electric start/stop button for the unit’s gasoline-powered engines, and a rechargeable battery used to power the button.

Are repairs available if I have the electric pressure washer?
What you can do:
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is informing consumers to immediately stop using the pressure washer and call Generac Power Systems to arrange an appointment for a free repair with your local dealer.
Furthermore, the devices can still be used with the battery removed by utilizing the pull-start option to start the unit, CPSC officials added.
