Record breaking March snow for Chicago

Going into Sunday, March 22nd, Chicago had received only 0.7 inches of snow for the month.

The latest storm brought 5.8 inches of snow officially at Chicago's O'Hare with 5.6 inches falling on Monday the 23rd.

The 5.6 inches on Monday broke the record for the greatest amount of snow for this day.

It's also the greatest amount of snow to fall after the Spring Equinox since 1982.

The total amount of snow for Match is now up to 6.5 inches and 50.1 inches for the season. This now makes 6 of the past 8 winters with snowfall totals in excess of 50 inches for Chicago.
