Three charged with armed robbery in Uptown
CHICAGO (STMW) - Two juveniles and one 18-year-old man were charged Sunday with an armed robbery in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.
Richard Brooks, of the 5000 block of North Ashland Avenue, and two male juveniles were charged with felony robbery, according to a statement from Chicago Police.
Brooks, the two male juveniles and another male robbed a 23-year-old man at 12:40 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of West Argyle Street, police said.
The 23-year-old man was outside when the four robbers punched him, produced a handgun and stole his cellphone, police said. A witness saw the robbers fleeing the scene and notified police of their whereabouts.
Police arrested three of the robbers, and recovered the stolen cellphone and one handgun, police said. The 23-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Brooks is set to appear in bond court on Monday.
