Beagle bonanza: Chicago shelter rescues 36 beagles from Virginia breeding and testing facility
It's a beagle bonanza on LaSalle Street as dozens of rescued beagles arrived Friday morning. The beagles were taken from a facility in Virginia, and there were so many of them, they are being spread out across the country for adoption. Chicago school seeking donations to help 65 students from Ukraine
St. Nicholas in Ukrainian Village has grown from a neighborhood Catholic elementary school to a community and social service hub since the war in Ukraine broke out. The school started out with eight students from Ukraine in mid-March to now beginning this year's school year with about 65 recently arrived students from the war-torn country. St. Nicholas is holding a back-to-school donation drive to collect supplies, gift cards and money for help with tuition. St. Nicholas Cathedral School principal Anna Cirilli talks about it.
