This September, during Pediatric Cancer and Sickle Cell Awareness Month, the nurses at Lurie Children?s Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplant Division are going above and beyond the hospital walls to bring hope and joy to the children and families they care for every day. A Little Lighter, a nurse-led fundraising group formed just three years ago, has already raised over $300,000 to support patients with cancer and blood disorders ? and they?re not stopping there.

After a crowdfunding campaign, after a full interior overhaul and rummaging through a ton of sports memorabilia, a highly-anticipated women?s sports bar is now open in Logan Square. It?s called ?Babe?s? and with eight TVs, Babe?s is able to show four women?s sports games at a time. Events, sports-related movie screenings and watch parties are being planned.
