Chicago weather: Flurries, light snow possible in Chicago suburbs Sunday
CHICAGO - Flurries and very light snow are possible across the southern suburbs on Sunday afternoon.
A major winter storm system is cutting across central and southern Illinois and into central and southern Indiana heading east. Several inches of snowfall is expected, so much so that the Indiana National Guard was activated to respond to the storm.
Chicago will largely miss out on that snow.
But any real snow will come Sunday night and Monday off of Lake Michigan as lake effect snow with a couple of inches possible. The snow will work its way down to Northwest Indiana.
Temperatures will stay in the mid to upper-20s Sunday into Monday and highs remain in the 20s throughout the rest of the week.
