Kickoff forecast: A chilly Super Bowl Sunday for Chicagoland

Super Bowl LIX is right around the corner, and football fans are gearing up for an eventful weekend.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will take the field on Sunday, February 9, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Fans in the Chicago area planning to attend watch parties will be in good shape when it comes to the weather. No weather-related issues are expected on Sunday or Sunday evening.

Skies will be mostly cloudy in Chicagoland with chilly temperatures in the 20s. Temperatures will be in the upper 20s by kickoff, dropping to the low to mid 20s during the game.  

Fans traveling to New Orleans can expect a beautiful weekend for the big game. Plenty of sunshine is expected both Saturday and Sunday with highs in the upper 70s on both days.

No weather-related issues are in the forecast for fans heading to Caesars Superdome. Of course, the game will be indoors, but fans out and about in New Orleans can expect mostly clear skies Sunday evening.

Temperatures will be around 70 degrees by kickoff at 6:30 p.m. EST, dropping into the mid to upper 60s during the game. There will be a chance of fog developing during the late evening and overnight hours.
