Mark Strehl Blog: Snowiest cities of winter 2015

Here it is: The top 10 snowiest cities of this past winter - through the end of March that is.

Realistically, many of these spots could still see even more snow! Now we could even find snowier places, not necessarily towns, but isolated locations found in remote mountains. But today, we will stick with places people actually live.

A couple of items of note about our list. First on the list Sault Ste. Marie, or "the Soo" as it's more commonly called. Their totals are about four feet above normal. And you know that it was going to be a busy winter there with 65 inches in November alone! That's more than 20 inches above even the previous record!

On the other hand, Marquette, MI - not really all that far away - had 157 inches, which is actually 11 inches below normal.

1. Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. — 158.7 inches (110.1)

2. Marquette, Mich. — 157 inches (178.2)

3. Bangor, Maine — 131.5 inches (59.3)

4. Caribou, Maine — 129.4 inches (96.2)
