CRETE, Ill. - Two employees at a suburban Ace Hardware store jumped into freezing water to rescue a driver after his truck plunged through the ice.

The incident happened at a retention pond in Crete.

A pickup truck slid onto the pond and fell through the ice.

Both Ace Hardware employees heard the plunge and rushed outside to help.

They broke the truck's windows and safely rescued the driver, who is expected to make a full recovery.
