Federal agents arrested both men on March 23 following a court-authorized search of their home in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

During the search, agents reportedly recovered a short-barrel rifle and 10 handguns, including one equipped with an extended magazine.

Prosecutors said officers also found 20 machine gun conversion devices, commonly known as "switches," which allow a handgun to fire multiple rounds with a single trigger pull.

Ammunition and firearm accessories were also recovered from the home, according to prosecutors.

What they're saying:

During a detention hearing on March 27, Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirsten Moran told the judge both Torres and Osorio are members of the 31st and Morgan Satan’s Disciples, a Chicago street gang.

Prosecutors said the residence was used as a hub for illegal activity, including firearms and drug trafficking.

What's next:

The judge granted the government's request to keep both men in custody while they await trial.
