Chicago man and his dog were victims of drive-by paintball shooting

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - It was a terrifying experience for a Chicago man out walking his dog when they became the victims of a drive-by paintball shooting.

It happened in the Edgewater neighborhood on Paulina near Thorndale around 10 Tuesday night.

“I thought they were gunshots, they were loud," said Chris Albandia, who was out walking his 9-year-old, 85 pound English Bulldog named Mugsie. “I just heard a popping noise, several of them, and it wasn't until we started getting pelted we realized something was happening.”

He said someone drove out of an alleyway and started firing a paintball gun towards them. He was hit in the nose and hand. Mugsie was struck in the behind and belly.

Half a day later, evidence of the drive-by still remained with yellow paint speckled on the side of a condo building.

“Usually it's a quiet neighborhood, there's never any problems over here so I am very shocked that this is happening here," said Norman Milsap.

Albandia called police and reported the shooter in a gray older model Jeep. Police told him they would be on the lookout for the vehicle.
