COPA releases video of officer-involved shooting on South Side

New body-camera video was released Wednesday from a Chicago police officer-involved shooting that occurred in March of 2018.

It happened after police confronted a man holding a meat cleaver inside a home in Bridgeport. The video shows the officers tasing the man after he failed to drop the knife.

After the man still wouldn't drop the meat cleaver following being tased, an officer shot the man in the leg. He survived.

Police say they were responding to a call of man threatening a woman with a knife. Police ended up charging 30-year-old Wen Min Chen with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
