Chicago man dies in wrong-way crash with semi in Grundy County
GRUNDY COUNTY, Ill. - A Chicago man died after being involved in a head-on crash with a semi Friday morning in Grundy County.
The backstory:
The crash happened just after midnight when a vehicle driving eastbound in the wrong lanes of Interstate 80 crashed into a semi near milepost 119½, according to Grundy County officials.
The driver of the car died in the crash. The Grundy County Coroner's Office identified him as 58-year-old Kieth R. Oswald of Chicago.
Officials did not say whether there were any other reported injuries. The crash is under investigation by Illinois State Police and the Grundy County Coroner's Office.
The Minooka Fire Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
