Halloween candy pulled over potential allergy risk

A Halloween candy sold in multiple states is being recalled because its packaging failed to disclose a milk allergen.

What we know:

Crystal Temptations of North Arlington, New Jersey, is recalling its Chocolatey Eyeballs after the company discovered the candy contains whey, an ingredient derived from milk, that was not declared on the product label.

The backstory:

The company launched an investigation and determined the labeling issue was caused by a temporary breakdown in its production and packaging process.

The candy was sold under the Crystal Temptations brand and distributed to Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Sierra stores in 13 states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming.

• "Crystal Temptations" plastic bag tied with a tag – Chocolatey Eyeballs, 11 oz.
