WILLOWBROOK (STMW) - A car thought to be the getaway vehicle of a man wanted for a home invasion and sexual assault Saturday afternoon in southwest suburban Willowbrook has been found.
Investigators released a sketch Sunday of the man, who forced his way into the woman’s home in the 700 block of 73rd Court about 1 p.m., beat and stabbed her multiple times, and sexually assaulted her, according to Willowbrook police.
The woman told detectives she was unloading her vehicle in the driveway when a dark brown or blue, older-model Nissan Altima pulled up, and a man got out and asked for money. She refused and went inside, but the man went to a side door of the home and knocked, asking to use the phone, police said.
He then broke in and attacked her with “an unknown sharp object,” police said. The man later took off in the Nissan, which had no front license plate and a sun or wind visor on the roof.
Brookfield police spotted a parked vehicle Sunday night that is thought to be the suspect’s car. The vehicle was removed and is being processed by evidence technicians Monday, police said.
“The vehicle was discovered due to the detailed description provided to neighboring police departments,” according to police
The suspect is described as a black man about 30, 5-foot-10 and 160-180 pounds, according to police. He was wearing a blue short-sleeve shirt, dark khaki shorts and white socks. His hair was pulled or combed back, and had dread-type curls on the ends.
Anyone with information should call police at (630) 325-2808 or (630) 325-2121. Willowbrook residents are also asked to call 911 if they see any suspicious people or vehicles.
