CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS) - Weeks into March and the 2016 presidential race is just now heating up.
Republican candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz got engaged in a heated back-and-forth regarding their wives on Thursday. The crazy headlines carried into Friday when The National Enquirer broke a story, claiming Cruz was involved in five extramarital affairs, citing several unnamed political insiders.
Cruz vehemently denied the claims later on Friday, saying "It is garbage, complete and utter lies. It is a tabloid smear and it has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen."
Cruz then went after Trump, saying "This man would be an embarrassment—we don't want a president that traffics in sleaze and slime."
Mike Flannery joins the set to talk about the red-hot GOP race and what these reports could mean for the future of Cruz's presidential run.
