A Christian school in northeastern Illinois that declined to enforce a mask mandate has lost state recognition but will seek accreditation in other ways, a newspaper reported.

Two men were killed and another was seriously injured in a shooting caused by "internal gang conflict" outside the Kankakee County Courthouse on Thursday morning, according to the Kankakee Police Department.

The shooting occurred around 9:15 a.m. at the south side entrance of the courthouse near the detention center.
