Chicago weather: Coldest day since mid-January
CHICAGO - Chicago opens today with wind chills between -4 and -14 degrees.
Skies are clear and winds are still cranking. It will remain mostly sunny for the majority of the area today with more cloudiness south of I-80 as a light snowmaker impacts central Illinois. Highs will be in the mid-teens.
Tonight will be mainly clear with lows similar to where we are now-single digits with the lowest readings away from the urban heat island.
Tomorrow won’t be as windy so wind chills will be less painful. Highs will eventually reach the mid 20s under mostly cloudy skies. Rain arrives on Saturday, now looking like mainly after noon. Temperatures should be safely above freezing at onset, climbing into the lower 40s.
Any rain would end early Sunday morning with the rest of the day mainly cloudy and mild with highs in the mid 40s. Monday looks rainy again with highs not far from 50 degrees.
