Chicago man explains why he wears a bulletproof vest around city

CHICAGO (FOX 32 NEWS) - We're not even five months into the year and already, there have been almost two-dozen shootings on Chicago-area expressways.

That's despite efforts by police to beef up patrols and calm worried drivers.

Brian Althimer is one of those concerned about the safety of Chicago's roadways. A former Marine and Englewood resident, Althimer took safety precautions into his own hands by donning a tactical vest.

Althimer joins Good Day Chicago to talk about his decision to wear a bulletproof vest until the city becomes more safe.
